Obama arrives for 1st visit to Jamaica as Sitting president

President Obama visit JamaicaJamaica welcomes the visit of President Barack Obama to the island.

Throughout the planning of the Visit there has been, and continues to be, continuous dialogue between counterparts in the Government of Jamaica and the Government of the United States.

The Government of Jamaica and the Government of the United States are committed to ensuring a successful and productive Visit.

President Obama will arrive in Jamaica on April 8.

On April 9 the US President will have bilateral talks with Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller. He will also hold a summit meeting with the Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community and lay a wreath to honour veterans of World War I and World War II.

President Obama will also host the President’s Town Hall forum with Caribbean and Regional Young Leaders.
